Machinery tandem for pipeline uncovering and undermining

Abstract:
Kyiv higher education institution offers a technology for capital repair of linear part of main pipelines and technical equipment used for this purpose. The application of the technology decreases the developed soil volumes by 20-25%. The University is looking for partners interested in the implementation of the development.

The description of the proposal:
Technology refers to the technology for capital repair of linear part of main pipelines with a diameter of 530 … 1220 mm including isolation replacement without lifting the pipeline. The proposed technology implies the combination of two types of machinery in a single set: a machine for pipeline uncovering and a machine for pipeline undermining. Rotary undermining machine is additionally equipped with a device for the removal of soil from the operating elements of the rotary undermining machine to the operating elements of the machine for pipeline uncovering. Due to this, the soil developed by rotary undermining machine is transferred to the operating elements of the machine for pipeline uncovering the devices of which transport the soil into a dump. It enables to refuse from digging deep pits on each side of the pipeline to place the soil.
The developer of the proposal has a long experience in research and production fields regarding the creation of the machinery for continuous development of soil.

Innovative aspects and benefits:
Firstly, it reduces the total amount of excavation and therefore its energy intensity and technical complexity, especially under difficult conditions (high groundwater, underlying hard rocks, etc.). Secondly, the absence of deep pits improves the ability of soil (under the pipeline) to support the pipeline. It eliminates the uncontrolled and excessive subsidence of soil under the pipeline and therefore eliminates excessive pipeline strain and the deterioration of its stress-strain state both during repair and then during operation. Thirdly, each machine has a maximum lightweight and simple design while providing high functionality of the tandem.
