Abstract:
University experts (Kyiv), specialized in friction and wear in machinery, has developed a mathematical model for predicting the durability of contact surfaces with regard to their tribological properties. The scientists are interested in cooperation with companies manufacturing and improving lubricants and manufacturers of parts and hardware.
The description of the proposal:
A mathematical model for predicting the durability of contact surfaces with regard to their tribological properties has been developed based on the regression analysis of multivariate statistical data.
Innovative aspects and benefits:
When using this model the relationship of tribotechnical and physico-chemical parameters of motor oils is analyzed. It enables to determine the optimal modes of friction unit operation. The use of the mathematical methods suggested for evaluating the effectiveness of lubrication in unsteady conditions enables to predict the reliability of structural elements at the design stage. It will significantly increase the durability of tribomechanical system.

Additional information:
The mathematical model evaluates the impact of motor oil physico-chemical performance during operation on contact tribotechnical properties. It also enables to predict the extent of oil aging and its quality factor. The efficiency of tribotechnical properties of synthetic motor oils is predicted based on regression equations. They estimate the intensity of accumulating fine-grained additives of organic and inorganic origin due to oil aging during operation.
